Evaluation of the Effectiveness of Tolpa Peat Preparation (TPP) as a Supplemental Agent in the Treatment of Periodontitis

Abstract:

The purpose of the study was to evaluate the effectiveness of Tolpa Peat Preparation, or TPP, in the treatment of periodontitis when used as 5 mg tablets for oral administration and as Chamosaldont Gel containing herbal extracts plus TPP for local administration. A double-blind clinical investigation was carried out in two groups of patients with the use of two forms of placebo. The patients who received TPP for 6 months showed a more significant clinical improvement in the condition of the periodontium than did the control groups of patients.
