Neutrophil Granulocyte FcR and CR Receptor Expression in Patients with Adult Periodontitis (AP)

Abstract:

The aim of the study was to assess the FcR and CR receptor expression in neutrophil granulocytes from peripheral blood in individuals with adult periodontitis (AP). The material under examination consisted of a group of 52 patients with AP. Tolpa Peat Preparation (TPP) was used in 31 patients (group I) and anti-inflammatory treatment was used in 21 patients (group II). A significant decrease in the mean percentage of cells with FcR and CR receptors was found in patients with AP when compared with the control. Higher mean values of EA and EAC tests were observed in both groups after treatment, but the differences in mean test values were statistically significant in group I.
